Pallet grades, decoded.

Grade isn't a report card. It's shorthand for structural condition, repair history and cosmetics — in that order.

The ladder

Four tiers, one honest scale.

Grade A (#1)

Structurally excellent, lightly or never repaired, visually consistent. Usually 7 top boards, no plugs. Behaves close to new at a fraction of the embodied carbon.

Best for: Customer-facing, retail, export-ready loads.

Grade B (#2)

Fully sound and safe to load, but shows its history — mixed board colors, visible repairs, more wear. The smart-money choice for most freight.

Best for: Internal & regional shipping where looks don't matter.

Recycled Combo

Mixed dimensions and constructions priced for economy. Not 'worse' wood — just matched to the right job.

Best for: Cost-sensitive, non-critical loads.

New

Freshly built, often from reclaimed lumber where possible. For when a spec genuinely demands brand-new wood.

Best for: Pharma, food, strict customer specs.

INBOUND CORESEvery load that arrives gets triaged board-by-board into a grade.
From pile to grade

It all starts as a mixed pile.

Cores arrive in every condition imaginable. Our crews inspect each one, route the repairable into rebuild lines, sort the sound into A and B, and send the rest to reclaim. The grade you order is the end of a careful triage — not a guess.

How recycling & reclaim works
Pro tip

The greenest, cheapest pallet is almost never the new one.

It’s the right grade for your actual trip length. Match the grade to the job and you save money and carbon at once.
